Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to September! We've been in session for three weeks, and things are rolling here on campus! We've completed the RenSTAR assessment for Reading and Math, and teachers began their Professional Learning Team meetings this week!!
As I shared at the first day of school Coffee with the Principal and Back to School Night , our school is a Professional Learning Community (PLC), which means we are committed to working collaboratively as a team to ensure all students achieve their full potential. Our weekly grade-level meetings are focused on reviewing student assessment data, sharing ideas for addressing student needs, developing plans for responding.

This year, we will continue our efforts to strengthen student achievement and close the gaps created during the pandemic. We will provide students with the tools and strategies they need to become independent learners and responsible citizens. We will also foster a sense of community and belonging by creating opportunities for students to collaborate, communicate, and problem-solve together.

In September, we will hold Student Council elections, a Family Garden day (Date TBD), have Picture Day on September 26th, and participate in the Windsor Day Parade on September 28th!

I am confident that this will be a wonderful year for our students and our school community. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Warmly,

Annette Zucconi, M.Ed. , Principal

Parent & Guardian Involvement:

Volunteer Opportunities and Requirements: We encourage parents and guardians to volunteer in their child's school.  There are many ways to get involved.  First, reach out to your child's teacher to offer support in the classroom, or with preparation of materials.  If you would like to volunteer during lunch recess, please reach out to Ms. Zucconi at azucconi@wusd.org to schedule yourself to lead activities like Basketball, Soccer, Kickball out on the Playground, or activities in our Rest Stop, like Yoga, Arts/Crafts, Knitting/Crocheting, etc. We would love to include you in our school community as your schedule allows.  All volunteers are required to have a TB (Tuburculosis) clearance from their medical clinician and be fingerprinted. Please reach out to our office for information on where to get fingerprinted.
