BROOKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (3-5)

Brooks Elementary School is the bridge between your child's early years and their transition to Windsor Middle School.  Students continue to grow as confident and capable learners, developing essential skills and study habits that will serve them in years to come.

A CALIFORNIA DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL

We are proud to have been designated as a California Distinguished School (2006 & 2010).

CURRICULUM AND SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS

Our district Career Technical Education (CTE) Partnerships in Theater Production and Culinary Arts (Vineyard Academy) begin in Grade 5, allowing a seamless transition for students wishing to pursue these academic focus areas in middle and high school.  Eligible students also have the option of participating in our GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program.  Music, physical education and visits to the technology lab, future garden and weekly sessions at our brand-new library enhance our curriculum.  We encourage our students to develop their extra-curricular interests through participation in our active student council and popular after-school drama program, 4-H In-Motion Club, and Move over Mozart.  The Brooks community gathers for all-school events like California Day (a living history celebration), Arts Day and Walk and Roll to School Day.

STAFF AND STUDENTS

We boast a diverse student population consisting of Caucasian, Hispanic, Laotian, Cambodian, African American, Native American, and others.  Our credentialed school staff includes a total of 24 classrooms, three Resource teachers, a Speech and Language specialist, a Music teacher, a Physical Education teacher, an English Language Development specialist, two psychologists/behaviorists, a social/emotional counselor, a behavior specialist, intervention specialists, trained instructional assistants and para-professional assistants, and additional support staff.

The Front Entrance of Brooks ElementaryPARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parents are formally involved in Brooks Elementary School through our Volunteer Program, the School Site Council, Events and Activities Planning Committee, and the Windsor Educational Foundation (which includes our parent organization).  Facilitated through a volunteer coordinator and staff members, parents serve as volunteers and helpers in the classrooms, on field trips, with special programs, school events, and more.  We regularly invite parents to join our principal for Second Cup, an informal gathering where parents enjoy a second cup of coffee together in the school library following morning drop-off.
